I've never seen a shelf this full of tarot cards in the Philippines. How would you choose the 'right' deck for you? (Photo from Pinterest) |
That's when I knew that it was for me. It wasn't a literal "calling". There was a deep connection to it and I knew I had to get it.
I was in Fully Booked that day with the goal of buying my first tarot deck. (I didn't know where else to look!)
My main criteria: Nice drawings. Nothing abstract. Nothing scary. Shallow, I know.
Four decks were on the shelf.
I instantly put aside the deck with ugly drawings. #Judgmental. Haha! Next was the punk-themed one since punk just wasn't me. And it looked scary!
It was down to the Rider-Waite deck and the Wizards Tarot.
I had a hard time choosing which one to get. On one hand, I thought the Rider-Waite was the most basic and easiest to learn. I was inclined to get it. On the other hand, the Wizards Tarot just seemed so beautiful and enchanting. I even searched online for what the other cards looked like!
After much thought, I went with the Rider-Waite deck. As I was about to pay for it, I stopped. Something felt off. It just... wasn't right (even without any reason).
That's when I knew.
I couldn't stop thinking about the Wizards Tarot. Somehow, I was so drawn to it. Even from a distance, it was making itself felt--as if it was calling for me to come and get it. I walked out of the store feeling like it was my best purchase. I had found "the one".
Now where to find "the one" for my happily-ever-after?? Haha!
